Marianne's Mission

My love affair with Marianne Williamson began in New York City during the 1990's, the Fall of 1991 to be exact. At that time she was a headliner at old town hall, lecturing the first Monday of each month. I was a regular. Standing room only crowds would soldier in to that ornate vestibule to hear Marianne speak the truth. Certainly not everyone's truth, but for some, her words --an extension of her studies in The Course in Miracles--resonated on a deep level. Not unlike Madonna, this Diva had a huge gay following.

In so many ways, the teaming of Dennis Kucinich and Marianne Williamson was a synergistic bulls eye. The two have spent their lives preaching peace, awareness, and activism. The idea for a Department of Peace--one that has been tossed around for two hundred years--began its jettison to the House floor only after these two joined forces. The result is HR808, and already enjoys the support of 75 Representatives .

Marianne has been enlightening the masses for years by speaking about the principles found in The Course in Miracles. The 60's Peace movement she has said, began as an outside job, it attempted to work its way back to our collective soul. The Course In Miracles teaches the opposite. The collective soul must be touched first. Far reaching and long lasting change is an inside job that will morph outward.

The last cat pic is funny. The cushion or whatever, almost seems to blend into the cats' heads making it look like their lower fluffy white-colored bodies.

HA!

Marianne Williamson is BRILLIANT - I think I told you that before. This is one of my favorite things ever written:

Our Deepest Fear

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, “Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous”? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It is not just in some of us; it is in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.

I know and it happens to be TRUE. Nelson Mandela was credited for that quote for a long time, until people realized he was quoting Marianne.
