August 16th, 2007 was the twentieth anniversary of the day my mother passed into her next life. I love to remember and celebrate her life on this day especially. I celebrate her optimistic world view, her sense of humor, and her keen sense for style. She was fun to be around! But mostly, I celebrate and honor the enormous capacity for compassion that she had through out her life.
I didn't mind her endless praise either, what can I say...the woman adored me. It was this last quality that may have done me in. Egomania indeed! My father and five siblings probably wouldn't dispute it.
Corinne died at 6:00 a.m. on the morning of August 16th, 1987. Also at that moment - at exactly 6:00 a.m.- a perfect planetary alignment formed and held for two days. It was referred to as the Harmonic Convergence. Anyone remember it? It marked the end of twenty-two, fifty-two year cycles of hell. The harmonic convergence was supposedly an opportunity for Peace to "breakout" all over the world. It was a big deal at the time and it began at the exact moment of my mother's death. It always seemed like such a good omen, a legacy of sorts.
On a side note, I find it a strange coincidence that my mother died on Madonna's birthday.

Ah may God rest her sweet soul. She mustve been a young one.
Don't remember Harmonic Convergence. I'll have to Google it.
That looks yummy. My kind of treat. My fave is sliced fruit and Lactose free vanilla ice cream on a short cake.
Damn! That looks GOOD! Kudos!
Madonna RULES, and I am VERY excited about the new music and upcoming tour -- and CHEERS to your mum - she must have been a cool lady to have such a cool son!
Hi!
Actually the image I used in my print collection is not from Evita. The look is similar though. In the particular print I wanted to combine an image of Madonna and the crown and do it in a way the Royals are portrayed for example in stamps etc.. The images I use in my prints are NOT taken directly from anything, even though they are inspired by images taken of her. I create every print from scratch, from one simple line and it takes a long time to build that face when you do it like that plus do all the different colour variations! I have more prints on the way (like I wrote in my post).
Anyone interested of products with a designer Madonna print celebrating her birthday and 25th anniversary year, go to: http//design-kimmomatias.spreadshirt.net
Please spread the word about this limited edition collection to as many Madonna lovers as you possibly can! I'd appreciate it, as the prints don't come together on their own - they are the result of hours and hours and hours of hard work! Thanks! =)

Ok, so the address is http://design-kimmomatias.spreadshirt.net ...I did a mistake in the earlier post (I am still trying to open my eyes here on the other side of the world, he he)
Madonna is only 49!!! There is at least three times more reasons why I love her!
And I'm sure you can say that for your Mum too!
Wonderful post!
Also, Elvis died on August 16, in 1977.
Yummy!
Happy Birthday to the Queen of all Things!
I've got a special tribute posted on my page...take a look!

Wow, what an amazing looking dessert! I'm upset I can't have a piece.
RIP to mom and joy to her in the next dimension. We'll all be getting there sooner or later right?
Even Madonna.
Happy Birthday to our beloved Madge....Great read...Luv ya!!
what a special thing to happen in the skies to escort your mum along!
Dear Dean (is it?) =)
The post about your mother was beautiful and so positive. She must have died young and been a very special lady. I was in a hurry when I wrote the first comment and I didn't read the post through then.. Sorry it it seemed inconsiderate of me not to comment on the post but instead told about something else! Take care.
I remember the harmonic convergence too...
Beautiful synchronicity there.
