What's On Your Play List?

MADONNATWISTED

music/ with daft punk
what it feels like for a girl
holiday
ray of light
sky fits heaven
skin
erotica
fever/ with en vogue
frozen
don't tell me
nothing fails
hung up & shut up/ with black eyed peas

Two years ago I compiled a collection of my favorite Madonna remixes, burned them to a CD, and called it "Twisted." I liked it so much that I made 30 copies and gave them to friends for Christmas. I don't know why Madonna doesn't put out a remix-only album every now and then. She has a twenty-five-year cache of the best remixed material in the world; it strikes me as curious that a woman with her business acumen hasn't tapped into such an obvious resource. Well, I continue to produce her best remixes regardless. Right now, my favorites go a little something like this:

1. Get Together (original track)

2. Erotica/You Thrill Me (confessions mash-up)
3. Music/Disco Inferno (confessions mash-up)
4. I'd Rather Be Your Lover (original track)

5. I'd Rather Be Your Lover (remix with 2pac)
6. Nobody Knows Me (Balboa Remix)
7. Nothing Really Matters (Club 69 Remix)

8. Secret (Junior Vasquez remix)
9. Amazing

Hey, I want a copy for XMAS too you big lug!

Um, yeah, how do you keep track of all the Madonna remixes? She must have tons and tons I would imagine! That is one aspect of her music I had never really considered, but it's almost as if an old song can be re-done to sound like an almost new completely different track, which is quite cool.

By the way, is that Madonna blog for real?

Don't worry WAT, Santa won't forget you this year. Your right about the possibilities in remixing, sometimes I wish she would do "American Life" over completely as a remix album with a dance beat.

That Madonna blog is an admitted fake, and a good one at that, Kimmo just started it up 2 weeks ago.

Loved the two remixed videos you posted. I've been listening to lots of Madonna remixes of the past, up to the present and have always loved her choice of D.J.'s to work with.

Madonna really should put out a hot, banging remix album pronto... at least for the loyal club freaks who'll really appreciate it.

She'll make mucho $$$.

These 2 songs you video posted always get me on the dance floor...and who do I have to sleep with to get a copy of that CD?

Yeah I agree with you. She was supposedly due to put out an album of all the tracks of Ray of Light remixed: it would have been called "Veronica Electronica"
But there was "not enough time in her schedule"... come on Madonna - I bet she didn't pause to promote You Can Dance... know what I mean.

Gledwood said...

yeah I like the nothin' really matters one

hey FINALLY i added you to my updated links... how remiss of me i am sorry i had a picture of you in new york city... not sure why... yes I am twilo/etc!

O.K, where shall I begin?

Gledwood:
"Veronica Electronica" would have been f'ing great, and promoting a remix album would be no more complicated than promoting a greatest hits collection, so yes that does sound like a load of crap

Christopher:
Me, Gledwood, Joe, Crazy Eddie, Zacko-Smith, and Wat--one after the other--with Lost Edge capturing it all on video and trading it for a blow job from catwoman. So, it's basically a win-win.

Lost Edge:
Chromeo, it's the new Madonna. Not! Actually I do like them very much.

-Supernatural (Sly & Robbie Remix)
-Sorry (Man with Guitar Mix)
-Let it Will Be (Paper Faces/Confessions Tour Mix)
-Ray of Light (Sasha Strip Down Mix)
-Jump (DJ Shalaya SummerMix)...

And those are just 5 of my favorites at the moment (I was listening to those tracks while dancing on rocky beach).

Great idea for Christmas gift! Too bad you sending it only to friends ;)

Talking 'bout "promotion"... British one hit wonder bands are dragged all over every tv show going, live apperances everywhere, total nonstop promotion no rest... people like Madonna do ONE interview with Vogue/Vanity Fair/whatever, ONE late night TV show per territory... she had ample time to "promote" the album... as we're agreed... I don't know why I'm saying this just wanna "cathartize" my irritation, I spose!!

Your "Twisted" album sounds great! Now, I have this craving, this terrible itch now... its just slowly growing inside me, hopping on the tip of my tongue... twisted... Ok! I'll do anything... So, could I get one copy of your cd? Said it, don't regret it, hahaha! Let me know! ;) P.S. If nothing else works, I can always point out a spot where you can see me without Kabbalah water bottles, haha! Remember?... You see how bad I want this, dontcha! ;D

Ok, look it. What is the big fucking deal about Madonna. She cranks out a couple of mediocre albums, and everyone can't stop talking about them and the ridiculous remixes. An entire album of "Ray of Light" remixed? You people are like Grateful Dead fans who need to get the fuck over it.

Actually, I have a bootleg CD of 'Ray Of Light' white label remixes.
