Madonna is Faye Dunaway

H&M

Am I the only one who is uncomfortable with Madonna's current H&M photos? I am at once drawn to them... and then repelled by them. Stylistically the images are spot on, but there is a mannequin quality to Madge in these photos that I don't like. Perhaps it is the artists intention, but for me, she may as well be filled with embalming fluid and laying next to Anna Nicole. I am also getting a strong Faye Dunaway vibe here, which is even scarier.

Love the costumes.

I almost pee'd. You know, I'm gonna have to agree with you there buddy. She does look sorta undead in these pics. Maybe you can chalk it up to airbrushing, or like you mentioned, it could've been the intent of the photographer, but regardless... it comes off as weird.

I still want to lick her from head to toe though.

You definitely have the point about how she looks on the photos, but as I mentioned on my blog, I'm much more than pleased with this H&M photos then the ones she did for Versace, because if she looks filled with embalming fluid here, on Versace adds she looked so artificially. And still I much more like this Steven Klein phoyos than Testino's.

Oh, I forgot to mention that Robbie is better and better with years. Although I don't like ''Rudebox'' album that much, ''She's Madonna'' is a perfect pop song.

OK, don't appreciate the whole Anna Nicole thing, but, you're right, Madge looks a little weird and scary. She has been photographed so many times (she's not a model, she's a performance artist) and usually she looks hot. What were they thinking?

I'll have to respectfully disagree with you (Vjeko) on the Versace Ads. If you are referring to the 2004 campaign, I LOVED that shoot. One of my favorites. Yes ,she seemed a bit artificial--I barely recognized her--but it worked anyway. She and Versace are the perfect marriage of fashion and icon.

I think the H & M ads are fine - maybe not her nor the photographers/stylists best work, but certainly worthy. Plus, I do love H & M - such a fun store!

I love Robbie too. Here's hoping he detoxes soon and rehab works for the poor chap. Did ya read how many drugs and chemicals he's on?! It's a wonder the short-statured hunk is still alive!

I confess I haven't
always been the biggest Madonna fan but I definitely
see her differently since reading all you have to say.
And you are so honest. When you don't like something
she's done you say it! I like that balance. It really
provokes me to look at her from many different angles.
And I think she has a lot of them. I guess that's why
she's an icon! She keeps us on our toes wondering. :-)

Anyway, thanks again! Have a good one!

It may just be me, but I think she looks a little man-ish in the face...a little too drag-queen-face...I dunno, a little too hard edged in the jaw area...I prefer the softer side of Madge!

But I do loves me some H&M...we finally got some stores open here in L.A.....wheeeeee!!
